Fagforbundet is the biggest trade union in Norway and fights for fair wages and working conditions primarily for people working in public sector, such as libraries. Fagforbundet also works to promote the best interests of libraries as an institution and the people who use them. Fagforbundet adopts a broader perspective on these issues than has traditionally been the case for trade unions. Our goal is to help create a better society – and with it, a better library service.
During the annual collective bargaining process, the unions negotiate for decent wages and working conditions for their members, including librarians and school librarians, believing that reasonable wages and working conditions are crucial to maintain high-quality public services.
